Since January (2021) I have been very fortunate to work with ABC News Graphics team as a Motions Graphic Artist. I have worked on ABC Programs: ABC News, The Drum,  Australia Talks, The Ticket & The Business.

Expanding on my current skillset, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and skills in order to navigate the past-paced nature of the news-room and have gained more experience liasing with Producers & Journos.  I have learnt from coworkers skills vital in furthering skills imperative to 3d maps, plasmas, locmaps, PTCs et cetera. I have also furthered development in skills in areas such as creative direction and editorial judgement.

On top of daily broadcast requests here are some of the highlights:

- Selected out of team to be sent to Canberra to do Budget Lockup Graphics

- Did The Ticket Rebranding (Thumbnails, Opening Sequence)

- Collaborated with Nicole Koncz, Girraphic Studio to create ABC's AUSVotes Look including templates and bases.

- Created ABC's Sydney Pride Plasma look.

- Created ABC's Game of Origin look.

I have also furthered growth within exploring representation within graphics, specifically diversity in gender, race, sexuality, ethnicity and disability in order to represent all types of people in our content. Additionally learning to navigate problematic representations in our media is key to represent an authentic cross-section of society.

I have started to navigate to my specialties within broadcast. These are:

- 2D & 3D Stings/Openers.

- PTCs / Mapping graphics into footage.

Previous experience working in Media Companies include The Conversation (Editorial Illustrator) & AFR (Graphic Designer).

Programs used are Element 3d, Blender, Cinema4D, After Effects, Photoshop & Illustrator.

In this video breakdown, I showcase the intricate processes and steps involved in bringing this captivating design to life. From 3D asset creation of the iconic State of Origin Shield to the intricate details of lighting and compositing, every element was meticulously crafted to capture the essence of this prestigious event.

What sets this design apart is its bold departure from the traditional approach. By embracing a unique 2D/3D hybrid look, we aimed to create something that truly stands out and captivates viewers' attention.
But what makes this untraditional design so eye-catching, you might wonder? Let's dive into that!

Breaking the Mold: By stepping away from the familiar, we challenge the status quo and open doors to fresh possibilities. Viewers are naturally drawn to innovative and unexpected visuals, sparking their curiosity and creating a memorable experience.

Visual Impact: The fusion of 2D and 3D elements creates a dynamic and visually stunning environment. It allows for seamless integration of eye-popping graphics, realistic simulations, and mesmerizing transitions, engaging the audience in a way that traditional designs simply can't match.

Emotional Connection: Untraditional designs have the power to evoke emotions and connect with viewers on a deeper level. They evoke a sense of excitement, energy, and anticipation, amplifying the overall experience of the event. The template is also highly versatile, in which you can change out the two images to specific players dependant on the story or you can keep the imagery generic. By pushing boundaries, we forge a stronger bond between the audience and the game.

Design Differentiation: In a competitive landscape, it's crucial to stand out from the crowd. An untraditional design approach provides a unique brand identity, setting the broadcast apart and creating a memorable impression. It's an opportunity to establish ABC as a trailblazer, redefining how sports design can be experienced.

I'm truly passionate about pushing the boundaries of broadcast design, and this project allowed me to showcase the power of untraditional approaches. It was an honor to collaborate with ABC and create something that pushes the envelope, leaving a lasting impact on viewers.
